Supporting Southend Carebank
Pear & Potato are really pleased to be able to support the amazing work of Southend Carebank. Set up during the pandemic by local feminist group All Rise Collective, Southend Carebank is a mutual aid initiative that runs out of St Marks Centre (next to St Marks Church) on Princes Street. It's run entirely voluntarily and funded by donations from the public, and attempts to address the rising levels of hygiene poverty in the local community.
They are always in need of these items, but are also currently running a Winter Coat Drive.
So if you would like to make any donations of toiletries or any warm coats that your family members may have grown out of, Carebank would be very pleased to receive them.
The Pear& Potato Van will be helping with donation collections every Tuesday 12- 1pm SS0,1,&9 and every Wednesday 12-1pm SS2&3. Do drop us an email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have donations that you'd like picked up. Or if you're a regular customer, leave them in/with your box and they'll get to Southend Carebank.
